A Note From our Founder

I’ve been thinking a lot about what La’ Agra is becoming.

And if I’m being completely honest, it doesn’t look exactly like what I imagined when I started.

When I created La’ Agra, I knew I wanted to make clothing that felt different. I wanted to take elements of the culture and craftsmanship I grew up around and reinterpret them into something modern, elevated, and wearable.

That part hasn’t changed.

But the way I’m doing it is changing.

And I want to bring you along for that process.

From a collection to a world

In the beginning, I was focused on the clothes.

What should the next collection look like? What fabric should I use? What detail will make this piece special? How do I make something that feels elevated but still like something a woman actually wants to wear?

Those questions are still important.

But I’ve realized that La’ Agra is about more than the clothes.

It’s about the woman who wears them.

It’s about culture, identity, femininity, confidence, and the stories we carry with us.

It’s about taking something from the past and making it your own.

It’s about dressing for the life you’re creating not just the life you’ve already lived.

And I want La’ Agra to become a place where all of those things can exist.

The collections have been telling me something

When I look back at the collections I’ve created, I can see the evolution more clearly now.

Pleated Blue was about taking a risk. It was my first collection and my first real leap into fashion. I had an idea, I believed in it, and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I wanted to focus on cocktail dresses and create pieces that would transition from Diwali to Christmas

It was exhilarating. And terrifying.

Then came Opulence.

That collection was me asking, What’s next?

I became interested in everyday luxury the kind you notice in movement. Satin catching the light. Brocade shifting as someone walks by. Pieces that could become part of a woman’s everyday wardrobe rather than simply being worn once.

Then came Blossom.

After Opulence’s richness and intricate details, I wanted something softer. Lighter. Something that felt like a fresh start.

Blossom became my exploration of renewal airy silhouettes, delicate lace, soft cottons, fluid satins, and a more effortless side of La’ Agra.

And then Reflection.

That collection brought me back to my roots.

Not in the sense of recreating the past, but in asking what happens when we take the traditions that shaped us and reinterpret them for the woman we are today.

Mirrorwork. Embroidery. Rich details.

But through a modern lens.

Because that is really what La’ Agra has always been about.

Looking back. And moving forward.

So what’s changing?

I’m becoming much more intentional about what La’ Agra represents.

I don’t want to simply release collections.

I want to build a brand with a point of view.

A brand that has a recognizable world.

A brand where you can feel the story behind the clothing.

And most importantly, I want you to see the person behind it.

That means I’m going to be sharing more of the process here.

The beautiful parts.

The complicated parts.

The ideas that work.

The ideas that don’t.

The behind-the-scenes of designing and producing a collection.

The decisions that happen before you ever see a piece on the website.

The business side of building a fashion brand.

The moments when I question everything.

And the moments when I remember exactly why I started.

Because the truth is, building a brand is rarely as glamorous as it looks from the outside.

There are so many things that happen between having an idea and seeing it become something real.

And I think there’s something beautiful about letting you see that part too.

Why follow along?

You might be here because you love clothes.

You might be here because you connect with the South Asian influence woven into La’ Agra.

You might be here because you’re a woman building something of your own.

Or maybe you’re simply curious about what happens when someone decides to bet on herself.

Whatever brought you here, I hope you’ll stay.

Because I don’t think La’ Agra’s story is finished.

I actually think we’re just getting started.

I’m changing the way I think about the brand.

I’m changing the way I design.

I’m changing the way I tell our story.

And, in many ways, I’m changing too.

I want La’ Agra to grow with me.

And I want you to be able to look back someday and say,

“I remember when I discovered La’ Agra.”

Not because you bought a dress.

But because you became part of the story.

So, if you’re interested in fashion, entrepreneurship, culture, creativity, or simply watching someone build something from the ground up—

follow along.

I’ll show you what’s happening behind the thread.

The collections.

The inspiration.

The business.

The lessons.

The failures.

The wins.

And everything in between.

Welcome to the next chapter of La’ Agra.

I’m really glad you’re here.
